Australian Bulk Stevedoring, a wholly owned CBH subsidiary, provides stevedoring services to exporters from our grain ports. 

 

The Role  

Join our Albany team as a casual Stevedoring Supervisor and play a key role in safely delivering stevedoring operations that support Western Australia's grain export supply chain. 

Reporting to the Manager - Stevedoring, you will oversee day-to-day site activities, ensuring compliance with safety, client, regulatory, and company requirements while delivering efficient and reliable services to our customers. You'll work closely with operational teams across Head Office and regional locations to support safe and effective operations.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Provide direct leadership and guidance to operations personnel, including coaching, performance management and development.
  • Monitor HSE compliance and proactively work to improve safety culture and performance.
  • Lead and manage operational teams allocated to shifts in order to achieve productivity, safety and customer performance standards.
  • Ensure appropriate communication of standards, expectations and procedures to the operational team through prestart safety and information discussions and meetings.
  • Monitor and adjust the allocation of resources to optimise operational and financial performance. 

 

About You: 

  • Proven experience in bulk logistics, including vessel loading, surveying and bulk loading operations, or similar logistics experience.
  • Experience leading and managing large industrial workforces in a safety-focused environment.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace safety, quality and environmental management systems.
  • Good understanding of competency-based training and assessment.
  • Current MSIC permit (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel capability.
